TheAtlas Sound FAP8CXT is a true compression driver premium performance70.7V / 100V tuned & ported 8" coaxial ceiling speaker systemperfectly suited for many business music and public addressapplications especially applications where high ceilings requireloudspeakers with increased efficiency and tighter pattern control.
TheFAP8CXTs 90ÃÃÃÃÃÃð dispersion angle (in the 2kHz octave band) is perfect forhigher ceiling applications where tighter pattern control is required.Tight pattern control (not exceeding 90ÃÃÃÃÃÃð) is important for high ceilingapplications. Loudspeakers exhibiting wider dispersion than 90ÃÃÃÃÃÃð willexceed 6dB of drop off at the edge of the coverage pattern causingexcessive SPL variances. Using more of the same wide coverage speakerin a high ceiling application to compensate only worsens the situationas comb filtering from multi-path arrivals will result.
Theunit features a curvilinear, polypropylene cone for lower harmonicdistortion, and a built-in crossover network for proper frequencytransition between the two reproducers. This loudspeaker is factoryassembled to an optimally tuned & ported deep drawn enclosure andincludes a specially designed 60 Watt low saturation 70.7V / 100Vtransformer. A convenient front mounted selector switch allows tapselection without the need to remove the speaker from the ceiling. Thistap selector switch also includes a transformer bypass setting forinstances where the 8 FAP8CXT driver is to be direct coupled with alow impedance amplifier
